Grateful for having a cup!

Last week, we offered an acronym to help us maintain optimism - PERMA. How did you do this past week displaying happiness and maintaining a positive outlook? We hope it was a week of being grateful for having a cup instead of viewing that cup as half-full or half-empty. 😸

Since you liked the PERMA acronym so much I thought I would share another one my mamma uses to foster a positive world. We all are going through so much right now - we need to let one another vent, and maximize personal connection by caring, actively listening, and creating transparency. We all deserve to be treated fairly, and connection happens when we practice empathy.

Listen
Acknowledge
Understand
Relate
Act

Listen to your friends and family, acknowledge the emotional impact and their feelings, understand their needs, relate to them, and take action to make things better for them.

LAURA - it is that simple.

Putting PERMA and LAURA together could truly help all of us, don't you think?

Every one is unique, and empathy is an important factor in adapting to someone and their current situation. Being empathetic creates positive friendships and relationships while reducing conflict and misunderstandings. Next time you are chatting with someone who you have a difference with, try out the LAURA technique, and see if the conversation is smoother than usual for both of you!

Have a blessed week, Readers.

Hunkered down and protecting our world.

It is quite a beautiful thing when you think about it.

We, globally, are going through something pretty horrific.

But, we can come together (in our actions - not in person!) and our actions of hunkering down, staying in, and being diligently social distancing from others will protect people we have never even met.

It is quite a beautiful thing when you think about it.

Here, we provide photos of us being beautiful. We can teach you how to nap, how to hunker down, and stay safe inside.

Our prayers and thoughts are with everyone impacted by the virus. Stay safe.

Is Stray Cat bringing us a friend?

About one month ago, Mamma saw what she thought was a stray cat in our yard.
So, she built the kitty an outdoor shelter since we were getting so much rain, and began putting food out for him.

Weeks went by, and we never did see this white and grey kitty again.

One night, when my sister and I were hanging out in our sunroom, a different kitty appeared at our door. We were surprised and alerted Mamma.

A beautiful grey kitty with big green eyes. He was quite thin and looked like he was living outdoors in our woods. Mamma fetched him some fresh water and some of our crunchy cereal. When she went outside to bring it to him, the grey kitty ran away. She called for him but he did not return. We were sad.

When Stray Cat first passed away, we knew we would never truly recover from the tragic loss. Mamma found comfort in her belief that when Stray Cat was ready, he would bring her a different stray to her... That was her immediate thought when she saw the white and grey cat hanging out in our yard. That Stray Cat finally brought us a friend.

So, then, who is this?

Nearly nightly, this little grey kitty has come to our sunroom door asking for food. He does not let Mamma approach him, and runs away when she goes out side with his food, but he returns to eat it.

Isn't he beautiful?

We are elated to be helping this little grey kitty, and we are determining what to do next. Will he let us take him in? Will we have the opportunity to bring him to our doctor to be checked? Will he want to join our family?

Stay tuned! There are exciting things happening here.
