Welcome 2021!

Happy New Year, Readers!

Humans made it through a year filled with difficulties and uncertainties, but for us cats, it was one of the best years of our lives!

We are happy cats, with mamma home a lot, and we have zero complaints about 2020. 2020 is gone now, and we realize humans learned a lot about what matters most in life during the past year.

For us, it has always been faith, family, food, and fun. We will get 2021 off to a great start by continuing our habit of starting each day with prayers of thanksgiving. For those of you who are re-examining your life we encourage you to pay attention to your thoughts and words.

When humans focus on things they can't do anything about, they are not living in peace - they live in frustration instead. Mamma knows that when she starts to worry about things that are out of her control, anxiety and stress sneak in. We don't want that for her or you.

How much thankfulness are you expressing in your life? If you want a challenge in 2021, try to get through one day without one complaint.

As you challenge yourself each day to do this, you may find how easy an attitude of gratitude can be. By this time next year, you will have become outrageously thankful. Take it from us cats: meow and you get treats; climb on the sofa, you get to relax. Focus on the good things that you can control. Focus on being thankful for all your blessings.

Here is one of our blessings from the week - our feral Grigio, who we love desperately, visited us daily.

We hope 2021 brings you health, peace, and joy.

Resolutions

Twelve days in to the new year, and we aren't about declaring a 2019 resolution, as we were taught a long time ago you can begin a new resolution each day. A new year just reminds us that each day is new and you can start over fresh. Peace in the present. Sadness in the past. Anxiety if only thinking about the future.
Each day, I resolve, I will be nicer to Pasqua.
Mamma bought "Safe Space" essence by Jackson Galaxy. Twelve days in of use, and I am not feeling yet that my space is indeed "safe".
I am unpredictable. Moody.
Some days, I can sit in the same area with Pasqua, and our world is fine. Other days, he wants to play, and I don't want any part of it so I hiss and growl, and chase. Pasqua thinks the chasing is play. Sometimes, I let it become that, other days, I just get irritated.
I am unpredictable. Moody.
I want to be nice to Pasqua, but sometimes, it is hard to share my home and my mom.
Sharing space.
Eating together.
Sharing a chair.
Unsure of a new world.
I don't want to always be nice. Sorry.
Humans can learn a lot from animals. How the world is just the world. To be present. Look out a window and see it.
Resolve to stay happy. Each time you tear a day off a calendar, you get a new day. Tomorrow is the first blank page of a 365-page book. 😺

Bring on 2019

It is with great anticipation that we look forward to 2019.
In our hearts, are beautiful memories of the arrival of Kismet on this very day back in 1994, and of last year's celebration, our last New Year with our beautiful Stray Cat, who passed away 26 days later.

We look forward to 2019, which we are optimistic that it will be filled with a lot of laughs.

We wish all of you a safe, healthy, and happy 2019. May joy always keep your heart afloat!
I am still not totally sure about this kitten.

Pasqua Scheggiare getting bigger each day.

Loving his own bedroom - and the peace it provides him without me lurking about!

Cuteness overload!

Happy December!

New month, new attitude, and soon, a new year.

Check me out. 😸

I know that I cannot be as sick as everyone thinks, despite my labored breathing and all the medicines I take, because I still can eat. I still want to eat. All of the time.

Whenever mamma is in the kitchen, I follow, whether it is time for me to eat or not, I want to eat. I want to know what mamma is making and if it tastes good enough for me.

So, it is a new month, and my new attitude is - I AM NOT THAT SICK - Look, I am still hungry all of the time, I am good. I am looking forward to the new year, I am gonna be okay.

My mamma will make an appointment soon to see how I am doing on my meds and if I have more fluid on my lungs, I guess they will drain it out again. Yuck.

Tomorrow, we celebrate the anniversary of the first arrival of Stivali into our home. Read her story here, if you are interested and missed my delightful post last December about my little sister. 😻 Happy You're-Ours Day, Stivali.

Happy December, Dear Readers - keep your spirits bright! 💗

How we spend Halloween...

...until the door bell rings!

My ma said she read that Halloween started as a festival called Samhain. It was part of an ancient Celtic religion in parts of Europe. As you all know, when the end of harvest came, the darkest season started, but the Celtics believed the barrier between our world and the ghostly spirits' world got really thin during this time of year.  After the festival ended, November 01 marked a new year.

Happy Halloween and Happy New Year, Readers!
